21 Days of prayer and fasting for South Africa
Why this initiative? The ever-increasing violence, immorality and corruption in South Africa in recent years remain a concern to many. It is said that 80% of the population professes to be Christian, but society does not reflect the fruit of the Gospel. Even as the nation prepares itself for general elections on the 29th of May 2024, many are desperate and feel hopeless that things will change. SEEMINGLY NO WAY OUT… This is a call for desperate prayer for the nation of South Africa. Desperate prayer comes when we face reality at the point where, humanly possible, there is NO WAY OUT. BUT GOD… “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him. (Joel 2:12-14 NKJV). IFSA (Intercessors for South Africa) is a forum of various national prayer networks, calling every Christian, every local church and every denomination to a season of desperate prayer for South Africa. What to do
- Corporate Prayer Gatherings – Consider hosting one corporate prayer gathering every week in your local church or community. (Video: Why pray?)
- 24-7 Praying Churches – Consider having a 24-7 Prayer Chain with 24 believers each praying for an hour of the same day as your corporate gathering. Register your church/group here: https://tinyurl.com/AWAKENSA
