Scriptures to pray when you are under demonic attack

In the first article on this topic we looked at some signs which can indicate that we are under demonic attack, bearing in mind that not all negative things can be ascribed to demonic activity. Scripture is clear that the name of the Lord is a Strong Tower, and the righteous can run into it and be safe! (Proverbs 18:10).

Listed below you will find Scriptures to pray when you know you are under demonic attack. Be bold and confident in praying through these Scriptures. Isaiah 55:11-12 says; So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. “For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands!” This is an awesome promise – boldly pray and trust the Lord to break through the difficulties and opposition you are facing, whatever it may be.

Scriptures to pray
  • He will guard the feet of his saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. ”For by strength no man shall prevail…It is not by strength that one prevails…” (1 Samuel 2:9).

  • For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose against me. (2 Samuel 22:40).

  • Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore! Honor and majesty are before Him;
strength and gladness are in His place.
    (1 Chronicles 16:11, 27).

  • The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthyto be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. The pangs of death surrounded me, and the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears. (Psalm 18:2-6).

  • For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. (Psalm 18:39).

  • The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. (Psalm 34:7).

  • “Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.” (Matthew 12:29).

  • And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:13a).

  • “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19).

  • So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20).

  • “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18).

  • “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;…” (Mark 16:17).

  • Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1-2).

  • “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19).

  • Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. (Luke 22:43).

  • What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Romans 8:31-32, 35, 37).

  • And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Romans 16:20).

  • For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. (1 Corinthians 4:20).

  • …lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2 Corinthians 2:11).

  • For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).

  • But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,.. (Ephesians 2:4-6).

  • Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;… (Ephesians 6:10-17).

  • He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,.. (Colossians 1:13).

  • For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,… (Colossians 2:9-11).

  • Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15).

  • If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Let your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3).

  • But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

  • Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:7-8).

  • Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9).

  • He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8).

The Name of the Lord
  • The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. (Psalm 18:2-3).
