Fatma* reached out to Arab World Media after seeing content highlighting the value of women in Christianity. Something in that message touched her heart deeply. Soon after, she wrote to them with a simple but urgent request: “I saw a dream, and I need someone to explain it to me.”
The dream
When AWM contacted her, she described the dream:
“I saw myself in the Old City of Damascus, walking on a street that felt very long and very dark. Yet at the end of that street, there was a bright light. I began to run toward the light. As I reached it, I saw a very gentle man. Light was shining from his face. He looked at me with kindness and said, ‘You are on the right path. Follow me.’
“I followed him, and we entered a place that looked like a church. When we went in, everyone stood up and said, ‘This is the Messiah.’ Then he turned to me and said, ‘Stand with the women at the front and sing with them.’ Even though I did not know the songs, I began to sing. And as I sang, my heart was overflowing with joy.”
Brother Nader, one of the digital responders, told her there is a real street in Damascus called Straight Street, and that it holds special significance in the Bible because the Apostle Paul encountered God there and had his life completely transformed. He explained that following the Messiah in the dream was an invitation.
Forever changed
After more conversations and study, Fatma made a life-changing decision to follow Jesus. Brother Nader then helped her connect with local believers who invited her to church. There she found what she had seen in her dream. She is being discipled by one of the sisters there, growing step by step in her relationship with Christ—the One who first met her in a dream and gently led her from darkness into light.
