Praying Onsite with Insight

This is a call to gather a few friends, visit your local Power Utility Plant or substation, and pray onsite for the issues surrounding power supply in South Africa – this weekend 3 – 5 December, 2021.

Although South Africa has been experiencing problems with electricity supply for a number of years, recent incidents of sabotage have sparked renewed concern. We want to encourage believers to pray onsite for solutions to this ongoing problem.

It is important to remember that our fight – first and foremost –  is not against flesh and blood, bad management, crime or corruption, but against the spiritual forces in the air behind all these manifestations in the natural. (Ephesians 2:2). Therefore our prayers – at all times – need to be submitted and surrendered to the leading of the Holy Spirit, flowing from a heart and attitude at rest in God. (James 4:7)

What to pray
1. For the foundation of righteousness and justice to be established in Eskom’s management,  for God’s glory. (Psalm 89:14)
2. For simple solutions to address immediate and upcoming emergencies, on both small and large scale.
3. For the exposing of plans for sabotage and evil, as well as the successful arrest of such criminals. (Daniel 2:22, Jeremiah 15:21, Psalm 71:4)
4. For a willingness from government to allow the private sector to deploy help and maintenance with existing power supply, and to invest in environmentally-friendly and sustainable electricity alternatives. (Proverbs 11:14)
5. Consider taking dedicated times of praise and worship unto the Lord at strategic places in your community – until breakthroughs are seen. (Psalm 33:1, Psalm 149:6)
