Mobilising, training and equipping Christians for prayer

A fieldworker in the Middle East wrote this report:

“I was recently speaking with a good friend and colleague from Germany who has conducted research into movements currently happening among Muslims. He looked at a total of 35 movements in 15 countries, where there were a minimum of 1000 new believers or more than 100 new fellowships.

A few years ago the concepts “35 movement”, “a minimum of 1000 new believers”, “a 100 new fellowship” and “15 nations” were simply unheard of.

According to the data, more than 80% of those who have been used by God to catalyse these movements exhibit this quality: FERVENT INTERCESSION.

They pray regularly and for extended times on behalf of their target people, for many to be saved in a growing movement.

This data matches what we read in the book of Acts¬†6:4 – “But we [the apostles] will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word”.

It’s not just those in the sending churches who pray (although that is really important too). It’s those who are called to go and be in direct contact, sharing the Gospel. This is one reason why Heidi and I have made equipping leaders in prayer our primary focus. It is so effective.”

Pray: For an increase of prayer for the Muslim peoples of the world. Also your own nation.
