Regardless of where we live, Christ’s peace can overcome every trouble and turmoil.
Jesus’ peace is for New York and Sudan and Egypt, the violence in Somali, violence against millions of Uigars in western China or the Rohinga in Myanmar. There people are fighting for dignity, freedom from oppression and exploitation, women and children being enslaved, raped and sold in human trafficking. It’s for the families of Gaza, a contested territory enmeshed in hostilities between Israelis and Palestinians.
Home to one of the world’s earliest known civilisations, war-ravaged Iraq faces ongoing political, economic, and social instability. Recent protests have highlighted Iraqis frustrations with the government. All need the Lord Jesus as Saviour and Healer.
Over 5.6 million refugees have fled Syria, and another 6.6 million have sought safety elsewhere in Syria. All need healing from the trauma of the terror of ISIS. All need to find new hope in Jesus, the Source of Hope.
Since 2015, civil war has gripped and devastated Yemen. This nation needs international help. At this point the devastation is just beyond what they can do – there are simply not enough resources and expertise to rebuild the nation.
- Ask God to send teams of courageous witnesses to every major city, and pray that Iraqis will find lasting hope in the Gospel.
- Pray for an end to fighting and for God’s peace to cover each man, woman, and child traumatised by war. Pray for Syrians to hear the Gospel and turn to Christ.
- Pray for peace between Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition. Ask God to bring relief to millions of starving children. Pray that faithful workers will find innovative ways to bring the hope of the Gospel to Yemen.
