Mobilising, training and equipping Christians for prayer

The atrocities that took place under ISIS were so severe and horrifying that many people in Syria seriously question their own faith.

A Muslim that became a follower of Jesus and suffered under ISIS, remarked: “If heaven is made for ISIS and their belief, I would choose hell for myself instead of being again with them in the same place, even if it is paradise.”

Many will still remember the battle of Kobani. This was the first place in the war against ISIS where ISIS lost a battle and that was a turning point in the expansion of ISIS.

Before the battle of Kobani, there were only a few Christians in Kobani. Now there is a small and growing church that is in good standing with the community. Most of them are converts from Islam.

People are disillusioned with Islam. ISIS claimed they are the real face of Islam. Farhad Jasim said: “If ISIS represents Islam, I don’t want to be a Muslim anymore. Their God is not my God.”

  • For powerful growth of the church in Kobani.
  • Muslims that are disillusioned will get connected with Christians that can tell them of the salvation and hope that there is in Jesus.
  • Pray for whole Syrian families to come to Jesus. It is very difficult for individuals that become Christians – they are normally ostracised by their families.
