Mobilising, training and equipping Christians for prayer

There is a clear and deliberate increase in prison sentences. The sentences are also harsher than in the past.

When Christians claim that Jesus is Lord and the Bible is their final authority, it can be perceived as an attack against Islam.

While Iran is seen as a country with nearly the highest increase in new believers and Churches, many end up in prison and go through many trials.

What can we do about it?
Christians in the West can’t do much to advocate for these persecuted believers. There is a risk that any kind of activism on behalf of Christians in Iran would add fuel to the fire; give Iranian authorities a sense that they are right in suggesting Iranian Christians are agents of the West, or they are seeking to undermine the government.

However, we can talk to the One who moves mountains. They are now able to communicate to a degree with each other in the prison. Pray that they would be able to encourage and edify one another.

Pray:
  • For pressure from foreign governments against these attacks on Iranian Christians.
  • Pray for an increase in the number of converts and a new boldness to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with non-Christians.
  • Many Iranians are dissatisfied with Islam – especially young people. Pray for divine revelations to these young people.
